Support Plus+ Additional Virus Scan

It has been proven that no one single anti virus programme catches all viruses, and although there are several packages on the market it is advisable to run an alternative scanner at regular intervals. Programmes such as Stinger are designed to detect the most common viruses that the main anti virus programmes miss. This should be used regularly in addition to a server based anti virus solution as it only detects certain viruses and does not even attempt to scan for common viruses which it knows your regular scanner will pick up on.

The process can be performed on File Servers and Workstations.

The process for additional scanning on a file server involves stopping certain processes while the scan takes place and restarting the services in the correct order on completion.

On Site Service

For a fixed fee our fully qualified engineers will visit your premises and perform the following functions. Please note that Internet Access may be restricted while the work is carried out.

	Check that your existing Anti Virus scanner programme is up to date and has the latest signature files downloaded.
	Check and report on any viruses that have been detected and repaired by your existing Anti Virus scanner.
	Check and report on any viruses that have been detected and quarantined by your existing Anti Virus scanner. If you are happy to delete the quarantined files then the engineer will do this, alternatively they will be backed up to an alternative location and the quarantine folder then purged.
	Purge Anti Virus log files.
	Stop all relevant services.
	Run alternative scanner and report on findings.
	Restart relevant services
	Check main Anti Virus is running
	Provide report of visit..

Remote Service

If you currently have terminal services or remote control software installed on your server via a Broadband connection we can offer the above service on a remote access service. Our engineers will perform all of the above services however we do not recommend performing the service on workstations remotely. The report will be emailed to you after the verification.
